Taking charge of your life direction
It’s time to take charge of your life direction. Now that we are in the second half of Mercury Retrograde you are able to act on your intuition. As eclipse season wraps up you are released from any big life lessons that have come up. It is time to move forward – on purpose. Take charge of your life.
This week I felt that 3 cards just weren’t enough for the guidance that is coming through. So I’ve pulled 5! All from the Angels and Ancestors Oracle Deck by Kyle Gray. The artwork is by Lily Moses.
Lady – Enjoy Growth and Reap Rewards
This card is like the Empress from the traditional Tarot. She is attuned to nature and tells you that it is time to reap what you have sown. Over the last few weeks we have been putting the work in. Learning what we need to release and what we need to grow. It is time to reap those rewards for all your hard work.
Step out into nature. Breathe in the fresh air and be grateful for the abundance around you. It is all too easy to fall prey to lack mentality and victimhood. The media is full of negativity and fear. Turn it off. Go outside. Reconnect with the beauty of nature. Remember you are a child of the Earth. You are in charge of your life. Choose to see the magic and miracles all around you. Turn that fear and lack mentality on its head.
Elder – Move Beyond Ancestral Patterns
This card reminds as well that we are in control of our lives. We can move beyond family expectations and stories. You are more than the sum of your genes. Healing starts with you.
By working on yourself to heal and move forward in life, you release ancestral pain and trauma. You don’t have to carry what is not yours to carry.
This is another card about connecting to nature. Tuning into the wisdom all around you. Learning from the wisdom of your ancestors but not taking on their pain and suffering. What stories are told in your family?
Are you expecting to inherit certain ailments and conditions? Do you allow these limiting beliefs and stories to sway you from your true path? This card asks you to look deeply within. To trust that you are in charge of your life. And as such, you control how it unfolds. Remember, you shape your reality.
High Priest – Intend and Create
Traditionally the High Priest is the keeper of wisdom. The bridge between heaven and earth. In Wiccan circles, second only to the High Priestess. He is the embodiment of divine masculine wisdom and occult knowledge.
He reminds you that you are also this bridge between heaven and earth. You have the power within you to create the life you want to live. It is time to remember who you are! Time to step up and apply the wisdom you have gained throughout your life so far.
Look within and also seek knowledge. Speak to your spiritual teachers or seek them out. Learn about esoteric principles. There is so much more to this life that what you have been led to believe! This is the time to shine your light. It is now time for deep spiritual wisdom to come to the fore.
We shape our reality by our thoughts, actions and beliefs. Your perspective shapes your world. If you surround yourself with fear and negativity then that is all you will see. By leaning into your soul and understanding the true nature of reality, you will transform your life.
Everything is energy. Tap into your natural abilities. Feel the energy in your hands. Meditate and listen to that small, still voice within. Read and learn. Find out more about the things that speak to your soul. Discover crystals, Reiki, intuitive development, shamanic practice or whatever speaks to your heart. The time is now! Don’t put it off any longer.
Direction Guardian – Choose Your Path
This card follows on from the previous three. It asks you to tune into your heart. What makes your heart sing?
Make your decisions by following your bliss. It is time to tune into the vibration of love and joy. Do what makes your heart sing! Take charge of your life by opening your heart. And by doing the things you know light you up!
Too often we find ourselves exhausted and stressed. This is a clear sign that we are doing too much to fuel other people’s fires and not stoking our own embers. Do not burn yourself out by giving all of yourself away.
Other people’s paths are not yours. You must find time to follow your bliss each day. To do what it is you came here to do. If you are not sure what that is, then place your hands on your heart. Settle into the space between your breath. That small pause on the turn of your breath. Allow yourself to become still.
Give yourself permission to daydream. To feel into the options that are in front of you. Choose the one that makes you feel good. What expands your energy field? Which choice in life makes you smile? Take charge and go for it. You are the driver of your life, nobody else.
When you follow your heart and do what you love, then more energy follows. You find you can easily serve others and still give of yourself. But you also have excellent boundaries and know how to care for yourself too. This how you avoid burn out. By choosing your path and consciously directing your life – you live your life on purpose. A key aspect of Intuitive Life Design!
Lord – Take Charge with Authority
The card pull wraps up with the counterpart of the Lady’s energy. The Lord. The Emperor in the traditional tarot deck. Divine Masculine energy. Be assertive. Take charge of your life. The key message behind this week’s reading.
This card is not about walking over people. Nor is it about being chauvinistic or aggressive. It is about being assertive. About having boundaries. Knowing when to say yes and when to say no.
This card reminds you that you are in charge. In charge of your emotions, actions, thoughts and beliefs. You can shape your life your way. It is all about perspective. Nobody can have power over you unless you give it to them. Who is in charge of your life? If it’s not you then perhaps it is time for change.

I hope you can take something from this week’s reading. I know I certainly can! Lately I have been super busy. Running between various roles and responsibilities. And trying to sort a house move in the background.
It is time for some self care, and better boundaries. For me, that means carefully considering what I say yes to. And how I spend my time. Sometimes I need to remind myself why I am doing something. I would urge you to be self aware and ask that question too. It can really help keep you on track as you take charge of your life.
