The Importance of Responsibility and Ethical Standards in Alternative Healing

Ethical Standards

You may have seen the recent story about a so-called healer whose actions led to tragic consequences. It’s heart breaking for the people involved and deeply frustrating for those of us who work responsibly in this field. It’s also a reminder of how important it is to hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards as practitioners.

As someone who’s passionate about empowering others to heal and transform, I want to shine a light on what responsible, ethical healing looks like and how you can make sure you’re in safe hands when exploring alternative therapies.

My Approach to Healing

Let me be clear – your safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything I do. My work with Reiki, Tarot, and Coaching is always about complementing – not replacing—conventional healthcare. I respect your autonomy and will never suggest abandoning medical advice. Instead, I aim to work alongside it, offering tools and techniques to help you reconnect with your energy and take charge of your own healing journey.

Clearing Up Misconceptions

There’s a perception that alternative healing is all about rejecting science or ignoring serious health concerns, and unfortunately, stories like this don’t help. But that’s not what this work is about. Responsible practitioners see the value in blending energy work with traditional approaches, creating a balanced, holistic path to wellness.

I’ve personally spent 7 years volunteering as emergency ambulance crew so I am well versed in balancing the alternative medicine industry with conventional medicine.

How to Choose a Safe Practitioner

If you’re considering working with a healer, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Check their credentials: Look for experience, training, and testimonials that show they’ve invested in their practice.
Ask questions: A good practitioner will be happy to explain their approach, what you can expect, and any limits to their work.
Trust your gut: If something feels off—whether it’s their energy, attitude, or advice—listen to that intuition and don’t be afraid to walk away.
Respect for boundaries: You should always feel safe, respected, and in control during a session. Anything less is unacceptable.

In Conclusion

This case is a stark reminder of why ethics and responsibility are non-negotiable in this work. For me, it’s all about empowering you to make choices that feel right, safe, and aligned. If you’d like to learn more about my approach or have any questions, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation going.
